Pastor Scott teaches that eternal life cannot be earned through morality, religious achievement, or simply adding Jesus to an otherwise self-directed life; like the rich young ruler, every person must recognize their inability to make themselves righteous and their complete need for Christ. Jesus calls His followers to surrender every competing allegiance and treasure, trusting Him as their only hope and recognizing that knowing and following Christ is worth infinitely more than anything this world can offer.
